Nafisa Waziri

Nafisa is a Senior Portfolio Manager at Open Development and Education. As a senior Portfolio Manager, Nafisa works closely with the Directors on the delivery of OpenDevEd’s portfolio of projects. Nafisa has experience as a high level consultant with the World Bank (the Fragility, Conflict and Violence Group for Coastal West Africa) and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (on education programming in Nigeria). She has been an analyst and policy advisor at the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) in Nigeria, where she led the research team and organised stakeholder engagement with government and the private sector. She has also worked as a postdoctoral associate at Cambridge, providing technical advice to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in producing its inaugural Development Outlook. Nafisa’s primary area of interest and specialisation is mixed methods research in education, and social protection programmes. She is routinely engaged in project design, monitoring and evaluation, analysis and communication of findings through policy briefs, programme reports and articles to inform development planning and decision-making.
