Charity Kanyoza

Charity Kanyoza is an experienced education and research professional with over a decade of progressive work in education systems strengthening, edtech integration, teacher professional development, and gender-transformative programming. With a strong background in foundational literacy and numeracy, Charity has led and contributed to nationally significant research, monitoring, and implementation efforts in Malawi and across Sub-Saharan Africa. He currently serves as an Analyst and Country Lead for Open Development & Education and EdTech Hub, where he has played a central role in the National Numeracy Programme and Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) initiatives.

Charity’s work spans rigorous qualitative and design-based research, programme design and evaluation, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. He has recently served as a Research Consultant for Room to Read, leading a desk review on education, gender equality, and book publishing in Malawi, which informed strategic planning for potential programme expansion. His publications include technical reports and working papers on foundational numeracy, formative assessment, and remediation strategies, evidencing his commitment to data-driven educational reform.

A qualified teacher and counsellor, Charity also holds postgraduate certifications in learning technology integration, curriculum design, and instructional decision-making. His cross-cutting expertise in psychosocial support, inclusive education, and digital tools has been instrumental in promoting equitable learning for marginalised children. Charity brings a culturally responsive approach to international development work. Charity is passionate about transforming education systems to ensure all children regardless of background can learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
